Grant Thornton concludes integration discussions in South Africa

Grant Thornton International Ltd (GTIL) and SNG Grant Thornton announced today that discussions between the separate member firms in South Africa regarding integration with SNG Grant Thornton have now concluded.

As announced in February 2018, GTIL began “a process to fully integrate the existing Grant Thornton SA member firms into SNG so there is only one truly representative South African national professional services firm under the brand name SNG Grant Thornton.”

Grant Thornton Durban and Grant Thornton Pretoria will integrate with SNG Grant Thornton. The new merged SNG Grant Thornton entity will be larger than the previous South Africa federation, with over 1,000 professionals across 13 offices generating annual revenue of over ZAR750 million. Grant Thornton Southern Cape has decided not to pursue integration given its niche in its local market. The Grant Thornton Johannesburg firm will not be integrating. Both firms will exit the network by latest 30 November 2018. GTIL looks forward to supporting SNG Grant Thornton, which has clearly created one of South Africa’s leading professional services firms, as they continue to help dynamic South African organisations unlock their potential on the domestic, regional and global stage.
