About our region
KwaZulu-Natal is situated on South Africa’s eastern seaboard, with the low-lying beaches rising to the Midland’s rolling hills before reaching the majestic Drakensberg on its west side.
The province’s major economic drivers are the Durban and Richards Bay ports - two of Africa’s busiest and largest ports – and it is the leader for domestic tourism in South Africa. The province’s key business industries in addition to transport and tourism are manufacturing, financial and retail sectors. Economic activities in the province are mainly concentrated around its capital Pietermaritzburg and the port of Durban, as far north along the coast as the King Shaka airport outside Ballito.
SNG Grant Thornton Durban’s office is situated in the fast-growing Umhlanga / La Lucia Ridge commercial node between the Durban city-centre and the airport.
