Raeesa Haneef is an International Tax Specialist at SNG Grant Thornton.
She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa (Law of Society of South Africa) with 8 years of experience within the tax arena. Raeesa completed her LLB, LLM (Commercial Law) and LLM (Taxation) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Following her legal articles, Raeesa gained experience in corporate tax, international tax and transaction tax at various prominent Big Four audit firms and Big Five law firms in South Africa. She has worked on a variety of clients in various industries and is able to bring her experience across a number of sectors such as the retail, motor vehicle, private equity, investment and wealth management and banking and financial sectors.
Her experience extends to a number of tax areas including both local and cross-border transactions as well as corporate simplification and restructurings. Raeesa has gained a good understanding of the operations and key tax risks facing various commercial sectors and this allows her to bring meaningful insight to key client issues, particularly in anticipation of legislative changes.
