Madelie Olivey is a Director and Head of Audit Technical at SNG Grant Thornton.

Madelie is a dedicated professional with 10+ years of experience in technical IFRS advice. Her experience and expertise in the listed environment ensure quality reporting through specialisation and efficient collaboration. She has vast experience in listed Financial Statements review and a passionate individual who strives to uplift her team to deliver sound IFRS advice in a rapidly changing audit environment.

Madelie is currently studying towards a PhD in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg. Her thesis explores the reasons why certain complex financial instruments create exceptions to the “equity rule”. She also strives to provide focused alertness, dig deeper, and achieve perfection even in the smallest of tasks.
