Our Client, a state-owned enterprise in the supply chain business is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Chief Financial Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for the leadership and administration of finance, accounting and budgeting to provide strategic financial support for the growth and sustainability of the company.
Main areas of Responsibilities (Duties):
- Oversee and coordinate finance and administration department activities to maximise quality and efficiency
- Provide sound financial advice to the CEO and the Board of Directors
- Make financial contributions to the implementation of the organisational strategy
- Develop new business and identify additional funding opportunities
- Consolidate, prepare and submit annual budgets
- Manage budgetary controls and ensure all expenditures are within budget
- Develop and implement finance and accounting policies and procedures
- Provide timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, and financial reports for submission to the Board, Ministry and PEU
- Oversee the maintenance of inventory and ensure all fixed assets are purchased in line with set policies
- Manage the procurement process and ensure compliance with the Procurement Act
- Maintain all financial systems and ensure accuracy of data
- Manage the internal audit function and attend to external auditors during annual audits
- Implement financial Board decisions and resolutions
- Train and develop finance and administration staff and carry out periodic performance evaluations
- Maintain sound financial internal controls
- Perform any other duties as required
Knowledge and experience:
- BCom Accounting or equivalent finance degree
- MBA, MSc in Finance or equivalent or ACCA or CIMA
- Seven (7) years experience in accounting, five (5) years of which should be in a senior finance position.
