FACILITIES MANAGER

The purpose of the Facilities Manager will be to for oversee all the aspects of the building(s), Property Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Architecture and Building Design, Stakeholder Management, Supplier Management, Maintenance Planning, Health and Safety, Security Management, Customer Experience and Stock Control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and management of the built environment of SPP, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Provide strategic planning services to align facilities management with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement facilities management strategies, including outsourcing decisions in accordance with SPP policies.
  • Conduct building condition assessments and inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive facilities & building maintenance plans.
  • Prepare, manage and control the department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Manage, negotiate and monitor contracts with key SPP service providers, ensuring compliance with service agreements.
  • Select, manage & measure performance of service providers and suppliers to maintain high standards.
  • Implement risk and business continuity management strategies.
  • Establish schedules and methods for facility maintenance services, identifying and allocating necessary resources.
  • Coordinate and participate in architectural or engineering planning for new and existing building structures.
  • Foster excellent people management practices, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Ensure routine and strategic maintenance of the Plaza to meet statutory and regulatory compliance, safety, energy efficiency, and functionality standards.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives to enhance environmental performance.
    Utilize technology and tools to streamline facilities management processes.

  • Numerically, good analytical and decision-making and good attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent people and stakeholder management skills.
  • Technology Savviness.
  • Strong understanding of Built Environment Management and Knowledge of statutory requirements impacting building operations.
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations and conflict situations while maintaining a professional relationship.
  • Proficiency in Property Administration software.
  • Familiarity with business analytics tools for reporting and data visualization (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in market conditions or business needs.
  • High level of integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Facilities Management with 5 years spent in a managerial position.
  • Degree in Property Studies, or Property Management or Facilities Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Management or any equivalent field.
  • Post Graduate certificate in Valuation or Real Estate or an Advanced Certificate in Shopping Centre Management will be considered an added advantage.
