Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage all broadcasting operations, including content development, commissioning, production, and technical delivery. The role ensures the provision of high quality, impartial, and culturally relevant programming while driving audience growth, digital innovation, and operational excellence in line with ESTVA’s turnaround strategy. The Head of Broadcasting Operations is responsible for strengthening brand visibility, expanding digital and interactive broadcasting, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee content development, commissioning, and production to ensure high-quality and audience-relevant programming.
- Drive audience growth through innovative, compelling, and interactive content across traditional and digital platforms.
- Ensure compliance with the Broadcasting Act 2023 and ESCCOM regulations, including the 70% local content requirement.
- Manage broadcasting operations, including studio production, transmission, program scheduling, and archiving systems.
- Ensure optimal technical performance, including achieving 99% DTT uptime and 95% national signal coverage.
- Expand digital broadcasting capabilities, including OTT platforms, social media, and interactive viewer engagement tools.
- Develop and manage partnerships with independent producers, regional broadcasters, and content creators.
- Collaborate with Business Development to drive advertising, sponsorship, and revenue generation through content.
- Oversee budgeting and cost control for broadcasting operations and content production.
- Implement digital content management systems and modern broadcasting technologies.
- Strengthen operational efficiency, workflows, and resource utilisation across broadcasting functions.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to broadcasting teams, including producers, technicians, and content creators.
- Promote innovation, creativity, and adaptability in programming and content delivery.

Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in media studies, Broadcasting, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in broadcasting, media management, or related field.
- Proven experience in content commissioning and production of local programming.
- Demonstrated experience in managing broadcasting operations, including studios, transmission, and digital platforms.
- Strong track record in leading multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced media environment.
