The leading professional services firm has generously sponsored over E20,000 towards the event, highlighting their dedication to fostering a greener future for Eswatini.

The "Go Green Fun" initiative, officially titled "Go Green Fun Day," aims to raise awareness and promote active participation in environmental conservation efforts across the country. This partnership underscores the growing collaboration between the corporate sector and media in addressing critical environmental challenges. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 6 am to 5 pm, at the Msunduza Sports Ground in Mbabane.

Speaking on the sponsorship, Robert Sithebe from SNG Grant Thornton articulated the firm's deep-rooted philosophy regarding environmental stewardship. "At SNG Grant Thornton, caring for the environment and embracing sustainable practices is not just a moral imperative," Sithebe stated. "It is also about acknowledging that our environmental impact, socially responsible actions, and robust governance (ESG) not only help to mitigate risks, but they also unlock opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the world."

He further emphasized the significance of their involvement, particularly in light of global environmental observances. "As a firm, we recognise the importance of World Environmental Day because we believe that protecting and nurturing the environment is essential if everyone is going to have a sustainable and prosperous future," Sithebe added.

Tlalane Dlamini, the events organiser from Eswatini Positive News, expressed her gratitude and excitement for the partnership. "We are absolutely thrilled to have SNG Grant Thornton on board as a partner for the 'Go Green Fun' event," Dlamini remarked. "Their generous sponsorship of over E20,000 is a testament to their commitment to environmental responsibility and will be instrumental in making this event a success. This collaboration will significantly amplify our message and encourage more emaSwati to participate in creating a healthier, greener Eswatini."

The "Go Green Fun Day" is expected to feature a range of activities designed to engage the community in environmental action, promoting practices that contribute to a more sustainable Eswatini. These activities will include a tree planting exercise and a clean-up campaign. The day's theme is "Our Earth, Our Fun: Growing Greener Together At The Go Green Fun Day."
