Location: Eswatini
Eswatini Standards Authority (SWASA) is a parastatal under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade auspices. SWASA is mandated to promote standards and quality in the local industry, commerce and the public sector and empowers the Authority to be the sole custodian of all issues regarding standards and quality in Eswatini. SWASA seeks to recruit a qualified candidate for the Chief Financial Officer position.
Job Purpose
Will be responsible for sound financial management systems for the Authority, ensuring accurate and timeous financial information for the Authority to enable informed decision-making.
Main Functions
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance
- Participate in the development of the Authority’s plans and programs as a strategic partner
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Authority
- Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the finance department
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the Authority; i.e. pension funds and other investments.
- Ensure conformity with the requirements of the Acts (Standards and Quality Act no. 10, 2003, Public Enterprise Act no. 8, 1989 and Public Finance Management Act 2018).
- Lead the implementation of ensuring conformity to both external and Internal Audit functions.
- Ensure an effective Risk Management system which extends into a Business Continuity Plan
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting/Finance
- Masters Degree in Business/Leadership or Management
- ACCA, CIMA, CA, or any relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage
- A Minimum of Six (6) years in Financial Accounting and Auditing
- Knowledge of international financial reporting standards
- Experience in Accounting Software
- Three (3) years of managerial experience in a financial role
