Omar Hassan is a Director and the Head of Business Consulting at SNG Grant Thornton. Leading the Programme Assurance and Advisory Service Offering, he has a total of 15 years’ experience in Assurance and Advisory with strengths in critical thinking, leadership, coaching and driving change.

Omar is a credible Assurance and Advisory professional focusing on Programme Assurance, Risk Management and IT Auditing. He has credible IT assurance experience within the big 4 audit firms and has held senior leadership roles within the Banking Industry. These include leading IT assurance covering various countries in Africa and spearheading programme assurance over organisational strategic, transformational and regulatory change.

Omar is an innovative thinker and experienced in formulating assurance methodologies and strategies. He has been instrumental in establishing combined assurance in the programme assurance space for a large organisation. Most recently he has been in the forefront in successfully establishing and leading programme combined assurance on one of Africa’s largest organisational divesture programmes.

Omar has sound leadership capabilities which have been established through effective communication, team management and coaching.
